Airport pick up
If you requested airport pick up, please look up for your name written in a sign in the greeting area of the Vancouver airport. Do not leave the airport. If there are any flight changes/delays or if you cannot locate your name, please call the number on your airport pick up form.
If you did not request airport pick up, you can take a taxi from the Airport to your accommodation.
How to get to SELC Vancouver?
Arrival Time – please arrive to the school on Monday at 8:45 am
We are located approximately 3 minutes by foot from the Waterfront Skytrain Station. Simply visit Google Maps at: http://maps.google.ca/maps and enter our Address: 321 Water Street, Vancouver, Canada.
Take the elevator to the 2nd floor, and as soon as you step off the elevator, you are in front of the Reception area. Please introduce yourself to our receptionist.
If you get lost or have problems finding us, simply call us at 604-639-9075 and we will offer assistance with directions.
What to bring on your first day?
- Passport – please bring your Passport on your first day together with your study permit (if applicable). We will photocopy these documents and keep them in your electronic file.
- Proof of Medical Insurance – Health care is very expensive in Canada. You must have valid Medical Insurance throughout the duration of your Program. You are required to bring proof of your Medical insurance on your first day of class. If you purchased Medical Insurance through SELC we will provide you with your insurance papers on your first day.
What to expect on your first day?
English Assessment – You will speak with our Academic Director to assess your English level and ensure that you are placed in the appropriate class.
Orientation – you will go to an Orientation Room with other students who are also starting on this day. During the Orientation, we will briefly review some Program policies, as well as some necessary paperwork that must be completed. You will also get the opportunity to meet the staff at SELC.
Other important notes
Please inform us of any medical conditions that we should be aware of (allergies, seizures, epilepsy, past surgeries, etc) so that staff/representatives/instructors are aware of physical/emotional/psychological limitations.
