The SELC Tours department organises Study Tour programs both at SELC and local Australian Primary and High Schools. SELC Tours can design programs to suit the needs of any group.
Whether the group size is 10 or 100, 3 days or 3 weeks in length, we can design a program to suit your requirements. We strive to include experiences that the students will find interesting, unique, and fun.
Our programs can incorporate interactive and effective English lessons, the beautiful sites of Sydney, the opportunity to meet Australian school students and stay in friendly homestays. They can also include overnight adventures, such as farmstays and camping.
Prices are given on a package basis (nett) and include the following:
- English lessons
- Airport transfers
- Welcome drink and snack
- Meals as required
- Travel Passes
- All activities
- SELC Certificate
- Farewell BBQ lunch
SELC programs make use of SELC’s excellent resources and facilities, its dedicated homestay department and the beautiful surroundings of Sydney.
There are 2 types of SELC PROGRAMS:
Closed English Classes
This type of program is suitable for any age (the minimum age of 12 years old recommended) and time length. The class will have their own SELC teacher who also accompanies them for all activities, both weekday and weekend.
This program is totally flexible and allows you to choose the number of English lessons and activities that will best suit the group. Lessons can even include cooking classes and the Internet!
There is also the opportunity to visit a local primary or secondary school. We can arrange cultural exchange activities where the students mix with each other and enjoy learning about each other’s culture.
Our lessons are fun and concentrate on English that will be useful during their stay. Lessons are frequently based on that day’s activity, so students can use their English immediately.

General English Classes
This type of program is available for students over 16 years and has a minimum length of 2 weeks.
Students first complete a level test and are then placed in a class, with other international students, appropriate to their English ability.
English study can be part-time (15 hours/week) or full-time (21 hours/week) with your choice of activities.
Australian School Programs
SELC Tours can organise programs in both Primary and High Schools within Sydney and country NSW areas.
Students stay with Australian families from the host school. Everyday they travel with their host “buddy” to and from school.
At school, students have English lessons and can also join in a variety of classes and activities e.g: art, sport, music, and history.
Each group has a SELC teacher to teach English and accompany the students for all classes and activities.
Students are provided with 3 meals a day from their homestay family, and receive a certificate from the school upon completion of the program.
Please note that programs can only take place during school terms.
These are located both in metropolitan Sydney and country areas. Students share cabin-style accommodation and are provided with 3 meals each day.
Recreation centres have both classroom facilities and various outdoor recreational activities such as basketball, swimming, hiking, and tennis.
SELC provides a coordinator for the group who teaches English lessons and leads the students in recreational activities. The coordinator remains with the group 24 hours a day.
3-star, 4-star, 5-star hotels can be arranged upon request.
SELC has its own Homestay Department. As group students can have specific needs, we take special care when selecting families. Where possible we try to place the students with families who have children of similar age and sex.
Here students can experience life on a farm – milking cows, sheep shearing, riding a horse and canoeing. Farms are located only 2 hours from Sydney and with facilities for also teaching English lessons, it is a perfect way to learn and enjoy English and Australia’s countryside.
Activities are a great way to complement your group’s learning experience in Sydney. Your program can be designed to include as many activities as you like.
