I’ve been a teacher for almost ten years and focus primarily on Cambridge courses. I love the demanding nature of the exam preparation course and the wide diversity of literary texts that students are exposed to. This variety and depth of language is something I try to promote in the class room and really enjoy the many influences that students themselves bring to the learning experience.
Working with language is something I’m very passionate about and being in an environment of great cultural diversity is what makes working at SELC a great experience.

Bert Colombi (Barista & General English Teacher)
Hi my name is Bert Colombi. Originally from England, I emigrated to Australia 15 years ago where I found a job at SELC and have been successfully employed here since.
I regularly come into contact with students and marvel at how lucky I am to be in such a rewarding and fulfilling job, meeting people from all countries and cultures and being considered as a friend and confidant by them.
I am currently teaching the Barista course and helping to run the school cafe – so if you want to say hi over a Cappuccino or Latte – I’ll be there with a hot drink waiting for you.
I look forward to meeting you if you come to SELC!
Christian Mullins - Barista, General English & Cambridge Teacher
G’day! My name’s Christian and I’ve been teaching at SELC since 2009. Born and bred here in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, I moved to Osaka, Japan, in 2005, where I started my career and lived there for three and a half of the best years of my life.
I also help run the SELC cafe when I’m not teaching General English and Cambridge and there’s nothing I love more than seeing my students succeed and excel.
