SELC’S BSB42015 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts. Leadership and Management allows people to assume responsibility for their own performance as well as provide leadership, guidance and support for others. Managers will be responsible for the organisation of their team. They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

This course allows students to gather a wide range of management skills which will allow them to feel confident in the workplace. They will be able to participate in work based tasks including promoting innovation within a team environment, analyse and present research and be a mentor in the workplace.

Delivery and Assessment

All vocational courses are assessed through a combination of assessment types that may include written assignments, case studies, reports, group tasks, portfolios and/or presentations. Students must successfully pass all units to complete the qualification.
All course materials and workbooks are available for free download from SELC’s e-learning platform, or for optional purchase at $10 per unit for hard copy. Assessment workbooks are provided inclusive of course fees.

Exit point/award

BSB42015 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management (AQF – Level 4) is a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).


Course entry duration and requirements

Academic

Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or international equivalent

English Level

Non-native English speakers must provide evidence of one of the following:

  • Successful completion of 10 weeks of SELC General English at intermediate level (plus 80% attendance) or at other approved providers;
  • Score of intermediate or above on SELC’s placement test. N.B. Tests taken overseas or off-campus must be re-taken on campus prior to finalising enrolments;
  • Cambridge FCE (above 150);
  • IELTS proficiency level of 5.5 or above (minimum of 5 in writing) or equivalent;
